Following a significant surge in popularity, Vexbolts’ TikTok follower count has experienced a dramatic decline, falling to 3.2 million after a highly publicized mass unfollowing event.
As the end of December 2024 approached, TikTok buzzed with messages and videos discussing the imperative to “leave Vexbolts in 2024.” The premise behind this movement was to induce a mass unfollowing of the popular “let him cook”meme creator, thereby diminishing his relevance for the upcoming year. In response, Vexbolts produced numerous videos themed around the concept of being “left in 2024,” while also collaborating with several major influencers on the platform.
YouTube sensation MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, was among the influential voices participating in this trend, as the mass unfollowing commenced precisely at 11:59 PM EST on December 31, 2024.

At the stroke of midnight, Vexbolts launched the “Let Him Cook” challenge through a video announcement, offering $1,000 to 20 participants, with a grand prize of $30,000 for the best entry.
To participate, creators were required to make a viral video utilizing the Let Him Cook meme, from which Vexbolts’ team would select the winners.

His livestream boasted over 996,000 concurrent viewers, as noted by TikTok user NoahGlennCarter, positioning it as one of the most viewed events in TikTok Live history.
Despite the sudden loss of followers, Vexbolts has still seen a considerable increase in viewership on his latest videos, effectively turning this chaotic situation into a beneficial experience for his brand.
