Twitch streamer AriaSaki has caused worry among her audience by confessing that she relies on chest pain to determine when to end her broadcasts.
AriaSaki is a well-known Twitch streamer with a massive following of over 657K. Her streams are known for their lengthy durations, with some lasting more than fourteen hours.
During a live broadcast in late July 2024, Aria expressed discomfort in her chest and considered taking a break to rest.
“It’s okay, it’s not terrible yet,”she reassured, but then proceeded to disclose some unexpected information to her viewers.
“She clarified, ‘I typically feel sharp pains in my chest when I reach my limit. I believe it may be due to the caffeine, but it’s not too severe. It’s more of a minor discomfort here and there. Just to be clear, the pain is not sharp, so please don’t be concerned. Actually, maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned it at all.’”
Despite her pleas, this statement caused concern among her fans, who turned to Reddit to express their worries for the streamer.
“One user expressed concern about the current situation, stating that the streamer’s frequent long streams, happening three times a week, are not like one-off events such as subathons or special 24+ hour streams which may be more manageable.”
The commenter’s statement is accurate; a review of her previous live streams reveals multiple VODs that are longer than five hours.
Fans of AriaSaki were left concerned after she revealed that she uses “sharp” chest pains as a way to gauge whether or not she should end her broadcasts.
It was noted by some that Aria consumes caffeine on a regular basis, something she herself acknowledged could possibly be a factor in her symptoms.
Another person noted, “She doesn’t get sufficient sleep. She streams for an excessive amount of time (over 30 hours, even her recorded videos show this). Furthermore, she consumes caffeine and doesn’t engage in enough physical activity.”
According to a report in Medical News Today, caffeine can lead to a rise in blood pressure that can damage the arteries and decrease blood flow to the heart. This can result in chest pain.
Despite reports of chest pain being rare due to caffeine intake, a recent study conducted in 2021 has shown that moderate consumption of caffeine does not harm blood pressure in the majority of individuals.
Despite the growing concerns surrounding her health, Aria has yet to address the situation on her social media channels. This has left fans eagerly awaiting any potential response from her, should she choose to address it at all.
