Vintage Video Reveals FT Island’s Choi Min-hwan Seeking His Wife’s Consent to Drink Until Midnight

Recently, the public has begun to scrutinize the past actions of Choi Min-hwan, particularly after old footage of his married life with Yulhee re-emerged. This clip was originally featured on KBS’s “Mr. House Husband 2″back in 2019.

In a video titled “Enjoying Drinks with Friends After Work! Min-hwan’s Happiness,”shared on the “KBS Entertain”channel, Choi Min-hwan was depicted requesting Yulhee’s consent to go out for drinks. Despite Yulhee’s preparations of braised ribs for a family meal, he called to inquire, “Would it be alright if I grab a drink with some buddies since it’s been a while?” He whimsically added in a playful tone, “Is it okay if I have one before heading home?”

When a visibly flustered Yulhee asked, “What time will you be back?” Choi Min-hwan replied, “I’ll be home around midnight after having a few drinks.” Yulhee responded with, “Alright, enjoy your time and come back when you’re ready,” prompting an enthusiastic “Okay, thank you!” from him. After he hung up, the footage depicted Yulhee wistfully tidying up the meal she prepared, which resonated with many viewers.

This old video has ignited a wave of anger among netizens. Many expressed their discontent, with comments such as, “She seemed taken aback by him needing to seek permission because he usually didn’t before filming,” “He has lost his basic decency,” and “Yulhee deserves happiness.”

In a development on October 24th, Yulhee took to her own channel to disclose that her former spouse Choi Min-hwan had been frequently frequenting adult entertainment venues. In response, Choi Min-hwan took responsibility for letting down viewers and the community, declaring, “I will stop all media engagements, including shows where I appear with my children.”

Married in 2018, Yulhee and Choi Min-hwan share one son and two daughters. The couple announced their divorce last year after five years of marriage, with Choi Min-hwan now holding custody of their three children.
