A Burger King chef, who had a perfect attendance for 27 years, has started his own food truck business in 2022 after becoming popular on TikTok.
Kevin Ford gained sudden popularity on social media after posting about the gift he received from his superiors at Burger King for his consistent attendance without any missed shifts. The underwhelming present consisted of a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, a bag of Reese’s Pieces, two packs of Life Savers, two pens, a lanyard, and two keychains.
The dismal recognition led to TikTok users coming together to start a GoFundMe campaign for Ford, which has currently raised $464,675 USD and assisted the diligent father in buying his very first home.
After working at the fast food chain for almost thirty years, Ford has officially decided to move on. He recently purchased a food truck, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life.

The food truck was procured and constructed through a Chinese company at a cost of approximately $20,000 by Ford, and it is fully outfitted with all necessary kitchen equipment.
As a nod to his online fame, Ford chose to call his truck ‘K27Y’ which stands for Kevin 27 Years. He has been enthusiastically sharing it with his followers on TikTok, showing it off with pride.
Additionally, he intends to collaborate with his daughter, who has been trained at Le Cordon Bleu, to operate K27Y. He will begin his venture by offering dishes that he is already highly knowledgeable about: hamburgers and hot dogs.
Although American Classics will initiate the process, Ford expressed his desire to incorporate a Filipeno influence in the future as a tribute to his fiance.
After K27Y becomes profitable, Ford intends to formally distance himself from Burger King and leave the franchise for good. He aims to achieve this by May 2025, coinciding with his 30th year of employment.
Currently, there is no set opening date for the food truck, but Ford is considering launching pop-ups in October. Fans on TikTok are eagerly anticipating the chance to try the food and some have even suggested a collaboration between Ford and Keith Lee.
