Newly engaged couple, Holly Walker and Charles Phillips, share a deep affection for Aldi’s grocery store, which played a special role in their engagement celebration.
Following Charles’s proposal to his future wife, the couple revisited the same Aldi aisle where they had their first date.
“Aldi is a mutual love of ours, and it has always been a special thing for us! We even took our very first selfie IN Aldi!” Holly expressed on Facebook.
Shortly after their engagement, the store’s PR team reached out to Holly, inviting her and Charles to commemorate their special moment inside their local Aldi.
“We were stunned, to say the least. We honestly thought it was a prank. But nope, it was the genuine article,” Holly remarked.
During their candlelit dinner, Holly and Charles enjoyed a catered meal. The romantic touch of candlelight was reminiscent of their first date, where Holly had been searching for a particular candle featured in Aldi’s infamous “aisle of shame” Facebook group.
“It’s not every day you hear about people having candlelit dinners in [Aldi], but that’s precisely what we did tonight,” Holly shared.
Aldi also celebrated their special moment on social media, showcasing the happy couple. “We assisted these lovebirds in celebrating their engagement in the place where it all began – the ALDI Finds aisle. It seems happily ever after is an ALDI thing. & Where others found great deals, Charles and Holly discovered romance.”
“This is the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen,” commented a captivated viewer of their unique yet heartwarming Aldi celebration.
“Couple goals,” another viewer added.
Aldi isn’t the only major brand willing to support couples in celebrating their love. For instance, McDonald’s offers a catering package for weddings, featuring options like 100 McChickens, 100 boxes of nuggets, or 100 Big Macs – all for approximately $267.
