Viral Moment: Steve Aoki Cakes Young Boy’s Face During Spectacular EDM Concert

Steve Aoki’s latest cake-throwing incident involved a young boy perched on his dad’s shoulders, creating a hilarious viral moment that has netizens laughing. Despite nearly toppling over, the little boy embraced the fun of the situation.

On Friday, September 20, renowned EDM artist Steve Aoki took to the stage at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY, continuing his unique concert tradition of launching a cake into the faces of ecstatic fans.

This time, however, Aoki’s frosting target was much younger, as he focused on a boy enjoying the concert from atop his father’s shoulders.

As expected, Aoki successfully aimed the cake right at the boy’s face. The young festival-goer, wearing a mask emblazoned with the word “cake,” nearly slipped off his dad’s shoulders, but audience members quickly came to his aid, preventing a fall.

With icing all over his face, the boy laughed it off along with his father. They both resumed enjoying Aoki’s high-energy performance, which marked Nassau County’s 125th anniversary celebration.

Following the viral TikTok clip, Aoki remarked that the young boy “took it like a champ.”

Many viewers echoed this sentiment, with comments praising the boy’s playful spirit. “He took that like a champ; he’s gonna remember this forever,” commented one user, accompanied by laughing emojis.

Another added, “He was such a good sport; I love it.”

Some viewers chuckled as the boy appeared to be on the verge of tears initially, but his mood brightened when he realized the crowd was cheering for him.

While this marks one of the youngest recipients of Aoki’s famous cake throws, it certainly isn’t the first time he has brought this unconventional experience to his shows. Aoki has been known for tossing large sheet cakes at fans since May 2011, selecting at least one audience member to cake during each performance.

The tradition began when Aoki was inspired by the music video of Autoerotique’s ‘Turn Up the Volume,’ which features cakes exploding in people’s faces. This prompted Aoki to embrace the playful cake throw that audiences now eagerly anticipate.

Steve Aoki’s cake-throwing antics aren’t the only reason this summer’s concerts have gone viral; other memorable moments include a security guard crying during a performance and a fan singing the wrong lyrics after being invited on stage by Blink-182.
