The explosive finale of Virgin River Season 6 has left fans grappling with five significant cliffhangers. However, actress Zibby Allen believes the most satisfying conclusion for Season 7 might not even one of these. Warning: spoilers ahead!
During the last ten minutes of Episode 10, viewers were bombarded with a series of dramatic revelations. Among these were Muriel’s cancer diagnosis, Doc’s potential loss of the clinic, and Mike’s marriage proposal to Brie. In addition, Lark’s disappearance with Brady’s money, Mel’s contemplation of adoption, and the ominous news of Charmaine’s possible death added to the chaos.
This plethora of crises is overwhelming, especially for the already small community of Virgin River. But the show also left many residents and their stories in the shadows. What about the characters not highlighted in the finale?
Preacher’s Career: A Wholesome Ending for Season 7?
For Zibby Allen, who portrays Brie, the ideal ending for Season 7 revolves around Preacher and his professional journey. “Preacher is such a good chef. I want him to have some career wins and big accomplishments,”Allen expressed. “He’s consistently portrayed as the good guy. He deserves a hero’s moment, which is a personal wish of mine since I admire Colin’s (Preacher’s actor) work immensely.”
Season 6 has been particularly challenging for Preacher, as he faced trial for first-degree murder in connection to Wes’ death—despite his innocence. He played a crucial role in helping Paige escape her abusive marriage to Wes, taking her son Christopher to safety. Ultimately, Brie worked to secure the best possible outcome for him during the trial, although her confidence might have been more of a façade than it appeared.
“Brie has had to fake a lot of her confidence,”Allen acknowledged. Prior to this, Brie suffered a traumatic assault at the hands of a colleague, making her journey even more complex. “I appreciate that quality about her character; she embodies the idea of ‘fake it till you make it.’ She is diligent in her efforts and deeply hates to make mistakes—this struggle is one of her significant lessons throughout the series.”
Currently, no filming or release dates for Virgin River Season 7 have been announced. Meanwhile, Season 6 is available for streaming on Netflix.
