Voice Actors Announced for Japanese Version of Terminator Zero Anime

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, Netflix announced the Japanese voice actors for the highly anticipated Terminator Zero anime series from Skydance Animation and Production I.G. Along with the release of the fall Japanese dub cast lineup, Netflix also unveiled a brand new key visual for the series, showcasing the main characters of the anime.

The Japanese dub cast of The Terminator Zero anime is composed of highly talented voice actors, known for their impressive roles and extensive experience in the anime industry. Among them are the voices of Anya Forger from Spy x Family, Zenitsu from Demon Slayer, Himawari Uzumaki from Boruto, and many other notable characters.

Terminator Zero: A Star-Studded Japanese Dub Cast

As previously stated, the complete Japanese dub casting for the upcoming Terminator Zero anime series has been officially announced by Netflix. The cast includes Yasuhiro Mamiya as Terminator, Yuya Uchida as Malcolm, Toa Yukinari as Eiko, Atsumi Tanezaki as Kokoro, Saori Hayami as Misaki, Hiro Shimono as Kenta, Shizuka Ishigami as Hiro, and Miyuki Sato as Reika.

Mamiya is probably most recognized for his previous portrayal of Gigantomachia in My Hero Academia or Magma in Dr. Stone. Likewise, Uchida is most likely remembered for her role as Charlotte Perospero in One Piece. Among Yukinari’s notable roles is Casca in the Golden Age film trilogy of Berserk, while Tanezaki is well-known for her performance as Anya Forger in Spy x Family. Additionally, Hayami has gained recognition for her portrayal of Shinobu Kocho in Demon Slayer.

Shimono is best known for his roles as Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer and as Dabi/Toya Todoroki in My Hero Academia. Similarly, Ishigami’s most notable previous role is probably Minami Kinoshita in Fruits Basket, while Sato is recognized for his portrayal of Halbet Chevour in Black Clover.

The series’ showrunner, executive producer, and writer is Mattson Tomlin. Serving as executive producers for the series are Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger, with Masashi Kudo directing the anime at Production I.G. The anime will consist of eight episodes and is confirmed to be a part of the Terminator universe, focusing on fresh characters. According to Netflix, the series’ plot is as follows:

“2022: A future war has raged for decades between the few human survivors and an endless army of machines. 1997: The AI known as Skynet gained self-awareness and began its war against humanity.

Caught between the future and this past is a soldier sent back in time to change the fate of humanity. She arrives in 1997 to protect a scientist named Malcolm Lee who works to launch a new AI system designed to compete with Skynet’s impending attack on humanity. As Malcolm navigates the moral complexities of his creation, he is hunted by an unrelenting assassin from the future which forever alters the fate of his three children.”
