Walgreens customer embarrassed after being ‘outed’ for their candy craving

A Walgreens customer’s need for a “sweet treat”was revealed when she had to seek help because all the candy was locked up.

While at the pharmacy store chain, Juliet, known as ‘avgpickleball_gal’ on TikTok, indulged in a sugary snack to satisfy her cravings.

Much to Juliet’s surprise, she found out that the Walgreens store had put “sweet treats literally in jail”. The candy aisle was secured behind tough plastic, and a key was needed to access any of its contents.

Juliet pressed the supplied button and requested assistance from the staff to fulfill her craving. As an announcement was made over the speakers, she filmed her mortified reaction.

The announcement for assistance in the candy department left Juliet wondering, “Why couldn’t they simply say ‘help on aisle 10’?”

The “tragic”situation left viewers equally shocked, with one person stating that the pharmacy had gone too far and must be stopped.

Another user expressed concern, stating, “This would cause me to have a breakdown.”Juliet replied, reassuring them that she also experienced the same. When questioned about whether staff had also brought her candy to the register, Juliet replied, “Might as well. Exposing my craving for sweet treats.”

Many argued that the new procedure could lead to weight loss as it could be their only defense against indulging in sugary treats.

A user also noted that using the loudspeaker to ask for help might have the opposite effect and drive away potential customers. They stated, “Interestingly, this approach could end up costing the company more money than they would lose from occasional theft. As for me, I don’t need the item urgently and have decided not to purchase it.”

A CVS customer was previously forced to seek help due to a lock on the refrigerator where ice cream was kept, leaving them feeling ‘degraded’. This is not an isolated incident, as shoppers have faced similar experiences in the past.
