Law enforcement is currently on the lookout for a man from Georgia who is accused of utilizing a ‘hack’ he found on TikTok to rob multiple Walmarts and get away with “thousands of dollars”in three different cities.
TikTok is notorious for quickly spreading trends; however, not all of these fads have a positive impact.
Despite costing major American retailer Walmart “millions of dollars”before it was eventually resolved, one man reportedly got away with using a TikTok hack and has since gone on the run.
The exploit in question enabled customers to receive cash back on specific types of transactions, resulting in a significant financial loss for the company.
According to TikToker B Hayes, it appears that the thieves were able to deceive the machines into believing that they had already made their payment for the items, even though they had not. This allowed them to receive “double the money back”for their purchase.

According to Det. Sgt. Nathan McNamara, the suspect managed to deceive the POS machine into giving him “double his money back”by canceling his transaction midway through.
Currently, authorities in Georgia are on the lookout for a male perpetrator who allegedly utilized the aforementioned method to pilfer large sums of money from Walmarts located in Newnan, Peachtree City, and Fayetteville.
The alleged surveillance footage depicts a male suspect in his 20s or 30s utilizing the self-checkout machine in order to obtain additional funds.
Surveillance video shows the suspect, a man in his 20s-30s, supposedly using a TikTok ‘hack’ to trick Walmart’s self-checkout machines into giving him cash.
According to reports from Fox 5, there have been sightings of other individuals using the same hack as the man in question. The authorities are seeking assistance from the public in locating the man and are urging anyone with information to contact the Newnan Police Department.
TikTok has seen its fair share of illegal ‘hacks’ gaining popularity, and this is certainly not the first one. In late 2023, the Flipper Zero hacking device went viral on the app, allowing users to wirelessly access various types of technology.
The Flipper Zero is capable of causing significant chaos for unsuspecting individuals, from tampering with Teslas to disrupting Apple devices. As a result, various outlets and creators have issued warnings to inform others about the Zero and ways to safeguard themselves.
Certain TikTok hacks have gained notoriety for causing frustration among service workers and businesses, leading to instances where Waffle House employees have declined to serve customers who attempt to use these tricks to order items that are not actually available on the menu.
