Warner Bros Seeking Talent for Major LEGO Game Based on Popular IP

A recent job listing has disclosed that Warner Bros is recruiting for an upcoming LEGO video game based on an undisclosed major IP.

WB Games has published a job listing for a Senior Game Programmer, set to collaborate with TT Games, featuring some intriguing information. The listing not only highlights an upcoming LEGO title developed in Unreal Engine but also indicates it will be centered around a significant intellectual property.

The application initially introduced TT Games and detailed the role, stating, “Upon joining, you will be assigned to a senior programmer on a team who will act as a mentor, guiding you through our code base and getting you up to speed. The project you will be on will be a major IP-based LEGO game built in Unreal.”

TT Games’ latest release was LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which launched in April 2022. With a two-year gap since then, it’s not surprising to see this WB Games studio gearing up for a new LEGO project.

The central question is which major IP this role will be overseeing. The remainder of the listing provided no additional clues regarding the franchise and focused on the job’s responsibilities and qualifications.

In various online discussions, rumors suggest that Batman could be the next significant IP for TT Games to tackle. Harry Potter was also brought up, but since all eight movies have already been transformed into LEGO video games, the next plausible choice may be the Fantastic Beasts series.

Harry Potter continues to be a vital IP for WB Games, as it has recently released Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and reaffirmed that Hogwarts Legacy 2 is a priority for the company.

It remains uncertain how far along TT Games is with this project, but given that this is a senior-level position, the development of the next LEGO game is likely in its early stages. In addition to LEGO titles by TT, Studio Gobo is also developing a LEGO Horizon Adventures game set to be released in 2024.
