Warning About Scam Email Offering Spot as YouTube Video Cast by MrBeast Staff

u003cp>Shawn Hendrix, the Chief of Staff for MrBeast, has issued a warning regarding a fraudulent email and website that falsely offers fans of the popular YouTuber the opportunity to apply for a spot in one of his videos.

Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson, who has amassed over 300M subscribers on his primary YouTube channel, frequently chooses fans from various countries to join in his extensive video projects.

His staff members frequently share information about the opportunities online, using email or social media to do so.

Shawn Hendrix, MrBeast’s Chief of Staff, issued a warning on August 25, 2024 about a fraudulent email that was circulating. The email falsely promised users a chance to be featured in one of Donaldson’s videos in exchange for payment and personal information.

In a post on X, he urged, “Please share and beware of scams. We want to clarify that we will never request money for participation in a video.”He also warned readers that if they receive an email from contact@mrbeastcast.com asking for payment or personal details in exchange for casting in Beast Games, our Youtube channel, or any other MrBeast-related project, it is a fraudulent scheme.

“Please be cautious of these emails which aim to deceive you into giving away sensitive information. While we are actively working on removing the fraudulent website and forms, we advise you to refrain from clicking on any links or disclosing personal details. The Beast team will never request our subscribers or contestants for funds to participate in videos. Stay vigilant and safeguard your personal information.”

Hendrix is cautioning about a seemingly authentic website that, upon initial inspection, appears somewhat lacking in comparison to MrBeast’s official websites. There is a prominent button in the middle that offers an opportunity to apply, but things take a strange turn from there.

The website does not only provide a link to a form, but also requires you to complete two out of four tasks listed by their sponsors. These tasks may include downloading the Opera GX web browser or submitting your information for a chance to win $1,000.

In the past, Hendrix has offered various opportunities for fans to appear in MrBeast’s videos or participate in his other projects.

In May, he provided a link for fans to apply for the Amazon Prime game show “Beast Games”on his website. As with all of his other opportunities, the YouTube mogul did not require any sponsor obligations for this form.

Just a few weeks ago, accusations against MrBeast and some of his team members surfaced. In July, Ava Kris Tyson left the team following accusations of “grooming”a young fan, and a former employee alleged that the YouTuber had knowingly hired a registered sex offender.

An internal email that was leaked disclosed that Donaldson is conducting a thorough internal investigation, however, he has not yet publicly addressed all of the accusations.
