More than 25,000 Warzone cheaters were banned at the launch of Update Reloaded Season 2 as the developers implemented a host of new changes to the anti-cheat system.
Cheating has always been present in Call of Duty, but it has become much more common in recent years, especially since the introduction of Warzone. From wall hacks to god mod to speed hack, players frequently encounter all kinds of cheats.
To counter this, the developers then introduced the Ricochet anti-cheat system, which has already put an end to the actions of thousands of cheaters over the past few years. However, there have been complaints from players, claiming that hackers can still bypass it quite regularly.
The developers have continued to roll out updates for anti-cheat and continued to ban cheaters en masse, and this also includes the start of Season 2 Reloaded.
CoD developers ban thousands of Warzone cheats again
Following the new Season 2 Reloaded update, which went live on March 6, the developers have banned over 26,000 accounts and added a whole host of new measures to combat various hacks.

“#TeamRICOCHET Update: Our team has seen and shares your frustration regarding the increase in cheating reports. We remain focused on this fight,” the developers posted.
“With the launch of Season 2 Reloaded, we’ve rolled out several aggressive upgrades, including: Fixes to combat flying vehicles with more to come, New mitigation: BOOM – vehicles that shouldn’t be in the air (or too much in the air) can explode randomly, Stronger protections and increased response times for the kernel-level driver (PC), Speed optimizations for Ranked mode detections, Improved detection of third-party hardware devices, and over 26,000 bans today.”
They also added that they will continue to develop other defense systems, and these will come in “future updates” .
So if you jump into Battle Royale soon and start seeing vehicles exploding in the sky, then you’ll know that you were near a cheater and it was taken care of by the Ricochet anti-cheat.
