Following community concerns regarding the changes seen on Rebirth Island in the Warzone Season 3 trailer, the developers wanted to speak out on the current state of the map.
Warzone fans can rest assured: the developers have revealed that the destruction of the Rebirth Island map will be a smaller-scale event than initially believed.
The new trailer for the Rebirth Island re-release, celebrating the launch of Season 3, showed the Prison area in ruins, which quickly led many players to wonder if the map had completely changed or the environments could be destroyed throughout a game.
The dev team then responded to these concerns by releasing a statement on social media to clarify how map destruction would work: “Later in the season, players will have a rare opportunity to encounter Infil Strikes. This is a set of dynamic events that will randomly change one of three possible locations from the start of a game.”
This means that only specific locations can be changed, and these events will not have a broader impact on the map in general.
This news has delighted the Warzone community apparently, with one user responding to the statement saying: “Victory, thanks for this clarification!”
Another fan thanked the developers for responding so quickly, calling their communication “quick and easy.”
On the Warzone subreddit, one player even wants this type of system to be applied to another game mode: “Why didn’t they just add this to Fortune’s Keep instead of changing the map?!”
The traditional formula of Warzone matches seems to be heading for big changes, and the least we can say is that for the moment, players are excited to try all of this.
