Developers of Call of Duty: Warzone have once again pulled the popular COR-45 pistol from gameplay, placing it on indefinite hold.
Since its launch alongside Modern Warfare 3, the COR-45 has captured the interest of players as a robust secondary weapon. However, various issues have plagued its performance throughout its tenure.
In July 2024, the developers temporarily suspended the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit
for this sidearm due to a serious error that caused an unexpectedly high firing rate. Another incident occurred in August, when a glitch allowed the COR-45 to utilize an Akimbo attachment, further complicating gameplay dynamics.
COR-45 Disabled in Warzone: What You Need to Know
On December 23, 2024, the official Call of Duty Updates account on X confirmed the pistol’s removal. The brief message stated: “The COR-45 handgun has been restricted until further notice,” with no timeline provided for its potential reinstatement.
The return of the COR-45 had introduced a new secondary meta that many players found to be significantly overpowering. Clever players identified that by stripping aftermarket parts from the Cork and Screw
blueprint and adding attachments such as the XRK Tactical Stock, they were effectively converting the pistol into a rapid-firing submachine gun (SMG).
This latest removal of the COR-45 highlights ongoing challenges with its functionality, raising questions about how it was allowed back into the game despite existing glitches. The current halt aims to prevent exploitation while developers address the underlying issues.
As we transition through Black Ops 6 and Warzone’s Season 1, anticipation builds for Season 2, slated to launch on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. While the details of new content from developer Treyarch remain under wraps, fans hold out hope for the COR-45’s return in subsequent updates.
