A Warzone player on PS5 has shared a video of a team of cheaters charging at opponents, eliminating them with riot shields while he has the crossplay option disabled.
The problem of cheating in games like Warzone and Modern Warfare is constant. Some cheaters have even found ways to avoid detection by RICOCHET, Call of Duty ‘s anti-cheat software.
As the methods hackers use to deploy their cheats become more and more sophisticated, RICOCHET is struggling to keep up. Typically, PC gamers are the most accused of using unethical methods to win games.
However, a player shared a video on Reddit of a group of players cheating on PS5.
The video shows cheaters running at impossible speeds while holding riot shields in an attempt to instantly eliminate their opponents in close combat. “How is that even possible?” asked the author of the post.

“Wait, we dealt with this today. I was confused because I had all my plates.” adds another player.
One user, with the eerily appropriate handle Riot_Shielder, gave a detailed explanation of how cheaters were able to implement cheats on console.
According to his explanation, these players first use a tool on their PCs that allows them to save cheats as one of the game’s assets. This allows them to inject assets like speed or one-shot kills directly into their classes. When they restart their console, the classes with downloaded cheats are available.
Console players “cannot be shadowbanned” . This apparently allows them to play with the corrupt class “as long as they want” .
Regardless of the specific method these hackers used, it appears that even disabling crossplay no longer necessarily prevents Warzone players from encountering cheaters.
