Warzone players are calling for a “sun nerf” that dazzles their vision

Warzone players are urging developers to reduce the sunlight effect due to the glare it causes, which can prove detrimental to gameplay.

Although debate persists about the potential improvement of graphics in video games, the last few generations of consoles have seen a considerable improvement in lighting. Techniques such as ray tracing have particularly contributed in this regard.

In particular, the improvements focused on lighting in Call of Duty bring to each new opus an additional layer of realism, an asset for the famous FPS.

However, some players argue that while elements like the in-game sun are awesome, it’s essential to tone them down for gameplay reasons.

Sun glare in Warzone has players demanding reduced realism

Reddit user Commando_ag recently posted a screenshot along with the simplest hashtag, #NerfTheSun. The screenshot shows the player’s line of sight completely dominated by distracting glare on the Urzikstan map.

He says the sun’s glare becomes particularly bothersome when traveling in areas like the city and the lighthouse. “I understand ‘realism’, but it should be toned down significantly for the sake of gameplay,” the post’s author wrote.

Warzone players in the comments agree that the in-game sun does more harm than good in many cases. One person claims to have died multiple times from “god rays” . The user explained: “Man, I died a few times because I couldn’t see the enemy because of that god ray.”

Meanwhile, others added that even adjusting their settings rarely helps avoid sun glare. “Unless I’m doing something wrong, even Nvidia filters don’t help without really impacting dark areas.”

Another person mentioned that adjusting the screen brightness doesn’t really work either. As a result, he avoids the Battle Royale card Fortune’s Keep because it “tires” his eyes.

This isn’t the first time Warzone players have complained about the game’s blinding sun. The sunlight that heated up locations in Caldera and Verdansk also caused similar issues for players.
