Warzone ‘s Season 2 Reloaded update introduced the new melee weapon Soulrender, and it didn’t take long for players to consider it absolutely over the top.
The SOA Subverter and the Soulrender melee weapon are the two new additions to Warzone in Update Reloaded Season 2.
While the SOA Subverter didn’t necessarily make a splash as an overly powerful weapon, the same can’t be said for the Soulrender. Powerful melee weapons are nothing new to CoD fans, as the Combat Knife and Karambit have wreaked havoc in MW3 since launch.
But with the Soulrender, players were quick to voice their opinions on how over-the-top this weapon could be. A montage revealing how quickly this weapon kills was posted on Reddit, with the author boasting: “I’m going to take this b**** to ranked.”

Other players quickly reacted and mentioned that enemies caught in the animation produced by the Soulrender cannot fight back once it starts: “This thing is crazy. You cannot fight back once the animation starts.”
The Soulrender has already made waves in MW3 by easily countering players using riot shields, but now it seems players are waking up to its potential in Warzone: “I think the combat knife is better as a combat weapon. pure melee just because it is much faster. It might just be multiplayer though. Soulrender might be better in WZ where people are more resilient.”
The increased health in Warzone could make the Soulrender even better than the Combat Knife and Karambit. It remains to be seen how the potential of this weapon will evolve in the future.
