Warzone players want classic Verdansk mode to return ahead of Black Ops 6

Amid the anticipation for Black Ops 6, players of Call of Duty: Warzone are requesting the return of a classic mode to the battle royale, particularly those who have grown tired of Supreme.

Despite the straightforward formula for a battle royale game, Warzone has introduced several new modes over the past few years. These include Plunder, DMZ, Iron Trials, and Armored Royale, all of which have gained popularity at various times.

Recently, a new mode called Supreme Resurgence was reintroduced. This mode is located on Rebirth Island and features high-quality ground loot instead of the standard weapons. Additionally, the cost of loadouts has been increased and there is a longer wait time for teammates to rejoin the fight during the Resurgence countdown.

The new mode has divided fans, and those who are not fond of it have used it to petition for the return of the simpler Classic BR mode from Black Ops 6.

Redditor rocker287 initiated the demand for a “reverse”mode in Supreme, where players would only find ground loot and not have the option to purchase loadouts, on a post in the CODWarzone subreddit.

One fan also expressed their preference for a barebones mode without any perks, loadouts, or killstreaks, where players could either pick up weapons or buy them from a designated station. Another fan recalled a similar mode called Classic Battle Royal in the first version of Warzone, but noted that it did not receive much attention from players.

Warzone players have called for a number of classic Verdansk modes to come back.

Another player suggested, “Let’s make it similar to Blackout, where we start with just a pistol and have to collect guns and attachments.”

Other players are urging the developers to take it a step further and bring back the Iron Trials mode. They also mentioned, “Iron Trials on Rebirth was a blast during WZ1. We hardly ever lost.”

Despite its critics for being slow-paced, Classic BR was a beloved mode among fans who desired a PUBG-esque experience in CoD. The basic loot and rewarding time commitment added to its popularity.

It is possible that it could be reconsidered for Area 99 with a few adjustments, as there is definitely a demand for it.
