Warzone Ranked Cheaters Targeted in Ban Wave Following Major Anti-Cheat Update

The developers of Call of Duty Warzone have, at last, granted players a portion of their requests by implementing yet another update featuring the RICOCHET anti-cheat.

The issue of cheaters in Warzone has been extensively reported over the past few years. When they first began to dominate Verdansk, numerous players stopped playing the CoD battle royale until an anti-cheat system was implemented by the developers.

Despite its current name of RICOCHET, the anti-cheat system has faced both successes and challenges throughout its existence. While it has been consistently enforced with periodic ban waves, players continue to voice their concerns about rampant cheating.

Despite the Season 5 update for Modern Warfare 3, it seems that the situation on that front has only worsened. Some players are now alleging that the anti-cheat system is no longer effective due to the ability of PC players to evade detection through Xbox Game Pass.

The developers have already released a fix for that issue, and they have now taken further action by removing any cheaters from the leaderboards.

“On July 31, the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat team announced their successful deployment of new detections aimed at catching cheaters and boosters in Ranked Play on Call of Duty: Warzone. As a result of this effort, the #TeamRICOCHET has taken action by banning accounts and purging leaderboards.”

In addition, they mentioned that comparable measures are being implemented in Modern Warfare 3’s Ranked mode in order to address cheaters in that aspect as well.

“Fantastic! We would be thrilled to see a complete list of the Ranked cheaters who were removed,”one fan exclaimed. “Absolutely, please continue, there are still more to be revealed,”another chimed in.

Despite not cheating, certain players have been experiencing shadowban loops and have urged the developers to address this issue. One player stated, “I have been caught in a shadow ban loop and it’s frustrating. Legit players should not be penalized.”Another player shared the sentiment, “This is great news, but can we please fix the shadow ban loops as well?”as shown in a comment on the post.

Undoubtedly, the developers are aiming to combat cheating on a larger level, but only time will tell if the other concerns are also dealt with.
