Warzone Reclaimer Shotgun Nerf: Is It Enough to Balance Gameplay?

Warzone Reclaimer Shotgun Nerf: Is It Enough to Balance Gameplay?

Fans of Call of Duty are expressing their dissatisfaction following the last update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, particularly regarding adjustments made to the Reclaimer shotgun.

The anticipation for Black Ops 6 is growing, signaling the imminent conclusion of Modern Warfare 3’s lifecycle. The last seasonal refresh arrived on September 18 with Season 6, but there have been notable alterations since its launch.

On October 21, Sledgehammer Games implemented what is anticipated to be the concluding update for Modern Warfare 3. This patch introduced various playlist modifications, reintroduced Deployable Cover, resolved UI issues, and included several weapon adjustments. The Reclaimer shotgun, which has been a formidable force in multiplayer and Warzone recently, faced a nerf in this latest patch.

Although the shotgun’s effectiveness has been slightly diminished, the community remains frustrated as the non-akimbo version was nerfed to a similar extent as its more robust counterparts.

“The Reclaimers didn’t warrant a nerf. They performed adequately. Only the akimbo variant needed reduction,” one player commented. “It was the akimbo model that required adjustments,” another user concurred.

“There was no need to adjust the non-akimbo variant. This forces a two-gun meta once again,” offered a third player.

The Akimbo variant of the Reclaimer has been excessively dominant.

Another player urged the developers to reconsider the change. “The alteration to the single Reclaimer is significant and uncalled for, as it was mainly the loadout that posed issues. The single Reclaimer is virtually ineffective now,” they remarked.

Nonetheless, with this being the final update for the year, it’s unlikely that their plea will be addressed. Future adjustments may be considered during Warzone’s integration with Black Ops 6, but this would exclusively pertain to the battle royale experience.
