From wondrous weapons to the return of Fortune’s Keep and new events, there are plenty of new features for Season 2 of Warzone. Everything you need to know.
Since its inception, Warzone has enjoyed great success with CoD fans, and much of that is due to the regularity with which the mode has been updated with new content. However, MW3 ‘s version of Warzone hasn’t been very well received since its launch, with many players calling out the mode’s shortcomings.
It is therefore important to successfully complete Season 2 of Warzone. So to spice things up and offer players a new experience, the developers decided to make a multitude of crossovers with a mode very popular with fans: Zombies.

Warzone Season 2 Roadmap
Warzone Season 2 release date
Warzone Season 2 will be released on February 7, 2024. This information was confirmed by Call of Duty.
Return of Fortune’s Keep
It’s been decades since the last battles were fought on this historic Mediterranean island, and although it may seem familiar, Fortune’s Keep hides many new secrets. The island has evolved; The Konni Group has established a base of operations, conducting mysterious experiments within a new underground laboratory. These nefarious activities have now led to a new terror haunting the island; a seemingly unforeseen catastrophic event has literally torn the island apart and unleashed a relentless undead threat!
New features
Zombie Nests and Eradication Contract (Limited Time, Launch)
Operators should be aware that recent seismic events may be linked to increased undead activity on the island. Therefore, a new temporary Eradication Contract has been issued to all available Operators: Investigate any corpses you find, following leads to a Zombie Nest of localized Zombie activity; They are infesting the island! Destroy the cysts and any HVT Zombies before the Contract ends.
Signal Rogue Public Event (Limited Time, Launch)
During a game, expect the Signal Rogue public event to appear periodically, pitting you against other players and teams in a 90-second objective-based mission. Money, XP and a special unique Reward Cache are at stake. After a notification, expect a new HUD element with a goal, scoreboard and your (or your team’s) ranking compared to your rivals. The steps to complete are as follows:
- Receive the Objective: All teams receive the same task. Examples include “Get the most kills”, “Deal the most damage to players”, or “Open the most crates”.
- Complete the Objective: All teams can optionally complete the objective within the next 90 seconds. The top three teams receive cash prizes of varying amounts and the location of the special Prize Cache.
- Claim the Reward: The Reward Cache remains locked for the next 30 seconds. The team that opens the Cache first receives the reward. Rewards are random.
Zombie Power-Ups (Limited Time, Launch)
A selection of Zombie-based power-ups are coming to Warzone for a limited time, buffing your Operator in addition to the perks you’ve already chosen! Seven Zombie power-ups (four familiar and three brand new) are available across the map and are found by opening certain crates or eliminating rival players.
- Double Points: Duration 60 seconds. Doubles the Floor Loot, kills, and score events in Resurgence (which contribute to teammate respawn timers).
- Full Armor: Instant Buff. Completely fills your active Armor slots when taken.
- Max Ammo: Instant Buff. Fully refills ammo for all your carried weapons when grappling.
- Selling Fire: Duration 90 seconds. Reduces the price of all items in the store for a short time.
- Looting Raid: Duration 60 seconds. Adds bonus items to crates, with a very high chance of a bonus Common item, and a small but significant chance of an additional Legendary item.
- Zarkour: Duration of 60 seconds. Increases movement speed by approximately 25%, with infinite Tactical Sprint and Running Reload, and disables Falling Damage.
- Vision of the Dead: Duration 45 seconds. Operators or AI enemies within your vision range are highlighted in red and friendly teammates in blue. Tracker footprints are active.
Note: Expect the possible durations of power-ups to be adjusted during the Season.
Expandable Bridges (Launch)
In the aftermath of the explosion at Fortune’s Keep, the surviving forces of the Konni Group assessed the damage and quickly constructed three Stretch Bridges over the gaps in the collapsed roads. These are not portable, but you can extend or retract them across a gap in the road using a small control console, one on each side of the bridge.
Wondrous Weapons (Launch)
Players with previous combat experience on Fortune’s Keep know that a Konni explosion will not have dislodged all the secrets this island has to offer. The latest information confirms that Wonder Weapons with limited ammo support and no reload options can be acquired under certain conditions.
Additional Features (Mid-Season)
- Research Vessel (Location): A large vessel was reported in the waters off Fortune’s Keep later in the season. Certainly likely to attract attention, the ship is large enough for combat to take place on deck.
- Bunker Buster (Killstreak): Use binoculars to point out a target structure. This deadly Killstreak launches a missile that vertically destroys a building across multiple floors, hoping to clear out enemies hiding inside. The impact creates a long column of gas designed to force survivors out of cover.
- Portable Decontamination Station (Combat Upgrade): We’ve said it before, but we really mean it this time – an upgraded version of the Portable Decontamination Station (PDS) joins the loot pool for mid-season, issuing a cloud of chemicals that counteract the corrosive properties of the circle gas, creating a temporary safe zone.
New weapons
BP50 (Assault Rifle – Launch, Sector B7 of the Battle Pass)
“A bullpup rifle chambered in 5.56. Dismantle the competition with a high rate of fire and exceptional accuracy to dominate at medium and long ranges.”
For operators requiring optimal mobility, the BP50 is an ideal choice. Offering exceptional maneuverability and a spectacular rate of fire compared to other weapons in its class, this Corvus-built weaponry can take down opposition in a variety of rapid and impressive ways.
RAM-9 (Submachine Gun – Launch, Sector B6 of the Battle Pass)
“More maneuverable and agile than its assault rifle counterpart, this 9mm chambered submachine gun is lethal at short range.”
Offering some of the best recoil control and mobility in its class, as well as the most ammo and reserve of any submachine gun, the RAM-9 may not win any awards for ranged accuracy, but it can easily take down any short-range opposition.
SOA Subverter (Combat Rifle – During the Season, Weekly Challenge)
“Chambered in 7.62, this hard-hitting rifle dominates at medium and long ranges thanks to a low rate of fire and predictable recoil.”
With excellent rate of fire and accuracy, manageable recoil, and best-in-class sprint-to-shot and movement speeds, the SOA Subverter also offers excellent headshot potential even in its base state.
Soulrender (Melee — During the Season,?)
“A ceremonial blade capable of razor-sharp cuts and deadly melee action in close combat.”
A vicious blade of impeccably forged steel, the Soulrender One-Handed Sword slices fast and deep, with rapid strikes. Using the aim button while holding “Fire” allows a guard stance. Release guard for an instant slice, allowing expert timing when quickly approaching a victim.
Ranked Resurgence (Towards the Start of the Season)
Ranekd mode is finally coming to Warzone, taking place on Fortune’s Keep and using the Resurgence rules for the first time.
This is the first of the Ranked modes coming to Warzone. Players should expect a similar experience to return later in the year.
