Warzone temporarily removes Bunker Buster after exploit discovered

Due to an unlimited duplication glitch, Raven Software is currently investigating and has temporarily removed bunker busters from Warzone.

In March, during the Season 2 Reloaded update, Warzone introduced the Bunker Buster, a killstreak that acts as a mortar strike and eliminates enemies from buildings. Once a target is selected, the explosive releases a gas that spreads across all floors and inflicts damage.

Despite players praising the killstreak for its ability to counter campers in hiding spots, a glitch with Trophy Systems rendered the Bunker Breakers unusable for the entire duration of the match.

Despite Raven Software’s successful resolution of the issue in the Season 5 update, the patch inadvertently introduced a new problem. Players soon discovered a duplication glitch that enabled them to acquire an excessive amount of Bunker Busters.

The development team promptly took action and temporarily deactivated the killstreak. There is no set timeline for the investigation, but players can monitor its progress on Warzone’s Trello board.

This bug is similar to the December 2023 exploit where players could duplicate gas masks and survive indefinitely in the gas. Another exploit was discovered in August 2023, allowing for the duplication of lethal grenades for unlimited use.

Upon hearing the announcement, players rejoiced and implored for the complete removal of the killstreak.

One user suggested either keeping the source of the gas disabled or eliminating it altogether, as it tends to linger for too long.

“A second commenter suggested the idea of permanently disabling them.”

In addition to Bunker Busters, other items are reportedly plagued by this glitch, adding insult to injury.

“It’s not only the bunker buster, but also every killstreak,”stated a third player. “Last night, my squad managed to take down a team that had 13 UAVs.”

Raven Software has yet to address the accusations regarding the potential duplication of items and the possibility of a Bunker Buster nerf in a future update.
