Warzone update fixes unintentional Season 5 fall damage buff

After the release of the Season 5 update, players were able to jump from greater heights without suffering fall damage. However, Raven Software promptly addressed and corrected this unintended change.

The perk Mountaineer in Warzone increases the height requirement before fall damage becomes lethal. While the fatal number is typically 13 meters, Mountaineer extends it to approximately 26 meters, almost doubling the distance.

After the Season 5 update, IceManIsaac found out that Mountaineer now has the ability to prevent death from a distance of 34 meters, which is an increase from the previous 26 meters. This allows players to survive jumps from heights that were previously considered impossible.

Furthermore, the overall impact of falling has been reduced, as players can now survive a 16-meter drop compared to the previous limitation of 13 meters.

Raven Software quickly responded and released an update that addressed a bug which allowed players to take no damage when falling from higher distances than intended.

Due to this, players are now subject to punishment for jumping from extreme heights.

In response to the recent update, popular CoD content creator WhosImmortal stated, “It appears that the Mountaineer/Fall Damage strategy has been nerfed.”

Some other members of the community expressed their sadness at the disappearance of this strategy, as it had greatly simplified traveling through Al Mazrah.

IceManIsaac was tagged by one player who then declared, “It’s time to wake up, the dream is over.”

“According to a second user, Isaac created a detailed video that caught the attention of Activision, who then realized that the content was not supposed to be public.”

The recent update addressed a problem with Trophy Systems that rendered Bunker Busters unusable throughout the match. Therefore, players can expect to see a return of the killstreaks in full force following this update.

Prior to testing, the full extent of this change is uncertain. However, we remain confident that Mountaineer will continue to be an excellent perk choice and players should continue to consider utilizing it.

Despite the perk not being as efficient as it once was, having the ability to jump from greater heights will always be advantageous.
