Warzone’s Latest Update Brings Back Meta from Modern Warfare 2

The latest Season 5 update in Warzone has caused a significant shift in the game’s meta, as the powerful Superi 46 has been nerfed. As a result, a well-known SMG from Modern Warfare 2 has seen a resurgence in popularity and is rapidly climbing the ranks.

During Season 4, Warzone saw the introduction of the KAR98K and Superi 46, the latest additions to the weapons in Modern Warfare 3. This dynamic duo rapidly rose to power, dominating the meta for several weeks.

Despite the fact that the KAR98 was nerfed in Season 4 Reloaded, it wasn’t until Season 5 that the Superi received a similar reduction in power. The latest update has resulted in a decrease in movement speed for the SMG overall. Although the SMG has not completely disappeared from the meta, it is no longer as dominant as it once was.

Consequently, alternative choices have emerged to take its spot. The Static-HV and AMR9 have quickly gained popularity, but for those seeking a different option, the VEL 46 might be the preferable choice.

Indeed, the Modern Warfare 2 classic, based on the MP7, has quickly risen in popularity and is now a top choice among players. This weapon has even caught the attention of Warzone experts, such as FaZe member Swagg, who have begun to showcase its effectiveness.

  • Muzzle: Quartermaster Suppressor
  • Underbarrel: Paracord Grip
  • Stock: Demo RXT Stock
  • Rear Grip: ZLR Combat Grip
  • Magazine: 50-round mag

Although there is a lot of visual clutter in some MW2 guns, the VEL is refreshingly clean. In fact, it is so clean that you can confidently use the iron sights on the SMG without being concerned about needing a different optic.

According to WZRanked statistics, the VEL 46 has risen to the twelfth spot in popularity among guns in the battle royale. Furthermore, it currently holds the second highest ranking among guns from MW2.

Evidently, there is a possibility of additional alterations causing the VEL to deviate from its current location, however it remains a lethal close-range choice.
