Warzone will not introduce a new battle royale map alongside Black Ops 6, but will instead include Area 99 in the Resurgence mode. The leaked Avalon map is expected to be released with CoD 2025, although certain sections of it can already be played during the beta for BO6.
Ever since the introduction of CoD’s battle royale, it has become common for games to include their own expansive Warzone map. Examples include Verdansk ’84 from Cold War, Caldera from Vanguard, Al Mazrah from MW2, and Urzikstan from MW3. Although there have been speculations about Verdansk’s potential comeback, it was widely anticipated that Black Ops 6 would feature the new map, Avalon.
In addition, the Area 99 Resurgence map will be released simultaneously with the integration of Black Ops 6 in Season 1, and Verdansk is set to make a comeback in Spring 2025.
A teaser for Avalon was discovered on Rebirth Island and was briefly featured in a trailer. It was later leaked in a large datamine at the start of August, revealing the entire area, including beloved maps like Firing Range, WMD, and Hacienda.
Upon entering the beta’s Training Course, you will be transported to one of Avalon’s islands, which were previously revealed in the leaks.
According to TheTacticalBrit, a popular YouTuber, the developers also included some Easter eggs in the game. If you visit the downstairs area, you will come across a map of Avalon, similar to the one discovered by players in Rebirth Island. While it may seem too small for a complete Warzone map, leaks have revealed that the actual map will be significantly larger and include multiple islands, including the one featured in the Training Course.
Additionally, the Skyline map featured in the beta is also located in Avalon, providing a comprehensive view of the surrounding areas.
According to Insider Gaming, rumors suggest that the next Call of Duty game will feature a new map called Avalon and is expected to release towards the end of 2025. If the rumors are true, it would follow a similar release pattern as Modern Warfare 3 did after MW2 in 2022. However, an official announcement is needed to confirm these speculations.
Although there is a possibility that Avalon has been abandoned and may never be fully realized, at this point in time, all we have are speculations and unconfirmed information.
