Warzone’s Weapon Meta Receives Significant Nerfs in Season 5 Reloaded

Amidst the release of Warzone Season 5 Reloaded, there were numerous adjustments made to balance weapons and disrupt the current meta. As a result, two of the most dominant guns this season have received significant nerfs.

Ever since their introduction in Season 5, the STG44 and Static-HV have been widely regarded as the top two weapons in the game. The WW2 Assault Rifle has dominated long-range combat, while the SMG has proven to be a formidable force in close-quarter battles.

The mid-season patch has greatly affected the effectiveness of the Static-HV, with a decrease in its damage range and modifiers. The near-mid damage range has been reduced from 30.48 to 25.4 meters and the headshot bonus has been lowered from 1.4x to 1.2x. These changes have had a significant impact on the performance of the weapon.

This means that the SMG’s maximum effective damage range has been shortened by five meters, making it less suitable for mid-range combat. Additionally, the modification to headshot damage greatly decreases the time-to-kill at close range, giving other weapons in the same category, like the Superi 46, a chance to compete.

The Static-HV has been the best SMG in Warzone throughout Season 5.

At the same time, the STG44 received a significant nerf, resulting in a decrease of its maximum damage from 36 to 32. This means that regardless of your distance, shot placement, or attachments, the Assault Rifle is now only able to inflict a maximum of 34 health per shot.

Similar to the Static, this change will significantly affect its time-to-kill in all scenarios, bridging the gap between the STG and other popular choices such as the SVA 545.

The impact of the nerfs on these guns and their continued popularity remains uncertain and can only be determined over time. However, it would not be unexpected to see an increase in the usage of ARs such as the MCW and SMGs like the FJX Horus leading up to Warzone Season 6.

On the other hand, for those who prefer multiplayer games, there is no need to be concerned about these nerfs. In MW3, both guns have remained unaltered.
