Wayne Rooney Tricked into Attending Fake Training Session with Angry Ginge for EA Sports FC 24 Pro Clubs

Despite being a Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney is no stranger to early morning training sessions. However, when YouTuber Angry Ginge jokingly proposed a training session for Girth N Turf and their EA Sports FC 24 Pro Clubs team, there was some miscommunication.

Despite being between managerial positions since leaving Birmingham City in January, 38-year-old Rooney has recently joined Girth N Turf FC, the EA FC 24 Pro Clubs team, making him their most recent and prominent addition.

However, Rooney’s initial days with the team did not go as smoothly as expected. This was due to Angry Ginge’s retelling of a comical incident where he tricked Wazza into thinking there was an early morning training session that he had to attend.

In a video on TikTok, Angry Ginge recounted, “I had told Rooney that training was from 8-11am. But the next thing I knew, it was 10 o’clock in the morning and I was in bed, trying to sleep. Suddenly, my phone rang and it was Rooney.”

“Rooney asked, ‘So I assume we won’t be training, lad?’ Confused, I responded, ‘What do you mean, mate?’ I couldn’t help but laugh, knowing exactly what was about to happen.”

“He said, ‘I’ve been up since seven-thirty with the controller in my hands. I’ve realized it’s just friendly teasing among you guys’. So he’s been sitting there since seven-thirty, all set for training with his controller. Incredible.”

“He said, ‘I had to explain to my wife that I couldn’t do the school run because I had training.’ I am not exaggerating when I say that I laughed so hard I couldn’t stop.”

Ever since joining the Girth N Turf team in their quest to climb the Pro Clubs ladder, Angry Ginge has consistently managed to get under Rooney’s skin, making this not the first instance.

Rooney expressed his willingness to participate in one of Angry Ginge’s live streams again, if the team desired, after giving it a try.

The YouTuber playfully responded, “You can return tomorrow, friend. Don’t make the same mistake again,”to which Rooney replied, “Ah, you red-haired jerk!”

Who plays for Girth N Turf FC?

In addition to Wayne Rooney, Girth N Turf FC, a well-known EA FC Pro Clubs team, boasts other notable sports stars.

Luke Littler, a teenage darts prodigy, is also a member of their group, having impressed with his skills in both dart throwing and video gaming. Another notable member is Aitch, the award-winning rapper from the Brit Awards.

Among the star-studded team, Littler and Rooney are joined by popular YouTube personalities including Angry Ginge, Yung Filly, Pieface, Mark Goldbridge, and IShowSpeed.
