The bride’s mother poured wine down the dress of a wedding guest, leaving her in tears, for no apparent reason.
Sylvia Gordon, known as ‘themedicarefamily’ on TikTok, was surprised by her daughter’s unusual predicament after receiving a plus one invitation to a wedding.
Despite only knowing her boyfriend, Gordon’s daughter was left in tears when the bride’s mother unexpectedly spilled wine on her dress.
Upon watching the popular video, viewers wrongly assumed that her daughter was wearing a white dress, but Gordon made it clear that she was actually wearing a gold one, making the supposed “targeted attack”illogical.
@themedicarefamily Gen X, am I right?
Gordon clarified that her daughter’s boyfriend was a “wonderful person”and that he had never had a girlfriend before, ensuring that there would be no drama or jealousy among wedding guests.
“Gordon recounted the incident where the mother of the bride walked past her with a full cup of wine and intentionally poured it down her daughter’s dress without saying a word. It was clear that it was a deliberate act.”
To console his tearful girlfriend, Gordon’s daughter’s boyfriend also poured a drink over himself. Neither of them inquired about the cause of the incident or why the bride’s mother felt compelled to spill her drink.
Gordan clarified that although she does not support violence, she believes that her generation would not have spilled the drink on themselves, implying that the bride’s mother should have taken responsibility for the spill instead.
@themedicarefamily It must be a case of mistaken identity BUT still not a proper way to handle a situation especially at a wedding!
In a follow-up video, Gordon clarified that her daughter’s gold dress was the target of the wine attack, contrary to the assumption of many TikTok users who saw the original video, which had received over three million views. She showed the front of the dress, soaked from the drink that had been dumped on it.
Gordon commented, “Although it may have been a case of mistaken identity, it is still not acceptable to handle a situation in such a manner, particularly at a wedding.”
One person who attended my wedding wore a yellow dress, and afterwards, multiple individuals approached me to comment that it appeared white. This led one person to speculate that the same situation may have occurred here as well.
“Another person suggested, “I am completely convinced that it is a good/yellow dress, but perhaps the lighting in the venue distorted its color? That is the only explanation I can come up with.”
