Weki Meki’s group activities have officially come to an end after their last comeback, “CoinciDestiny,”and the expiration of their contract. The announcement was met with sorrow by fans who were heartbroken over the disbandment of the girl group.

On August 16, Fantagio issued a formal announcement announcing the disbandment of Weki Meki. The company revealed that the group’s activities had concluded on August 8, marking the end of their seven-year journey.

According to Fantagio, they are currently in discussions regarding contract renewals with members Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojin, and Kim Doyeon. However, Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have made the decision to end their contracts with the company.

The agency extended its appreciation to the five members for their dedication and offered encouragement for their future endeavors. Fantagio also urged fans to continue supporting the five idols in their future pursuits. The agency’s complete statement can be found below.

Firstly, we would like to thank fans who have loved and supported Weki Meki. After engaging with Weki Meki in a lengthy discussion, it was concluded that they would end their group activities as of August 8.

We are also currently discussing with Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Doyeon about renewing their contracts. Members Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have decided to end their exclusive contract with us.

We want to thank Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy for their brilliant performances as members of Weki Meki. The group’s activities have officially ended, but we will continue to do our best to support them in their endeavors.

Despite the update, fans on social media expressed their profound sadness.

Despite some fans expressing heartbreak over the group’s disbandment, others directed their anger towards Fantagio. The release of the music video for “CoinciDestiny”only added to the disappointment, as many fans were dissatisfied with Fantagio’s decision to send off the girl group with a low-quality MV.
