Wesley Snipes has perfect response to calls for MCU Blade to be canceled

Following his reprisal of the iconic role in Deadpool & Wolverine, Wesley Snipes, who played Blade, has addressed the calls for the upcoming MCU movie to be scrapped.

Currently, there is a lot of attention on the upcoming Marvel reboot of Blade, which has encountered numerous obstacles. With no director attached and rumors of its lead actor Mahershala Ali not being satisfied with the script, it seems unlikely that the film will meet its planned release date of 2025.

Fans of Marvel were ecstatic to witness Snipes’ reprisal of the character in Deadpool & Wolverine, and have since demanded the cancellation of the MCU film in favor of him returning to the role in a new movie.

In response to these requests, Snipes made a comment on Instagram. He posted on a particular article advocating for his return, writing, “You all are crazy! hahaha.”

Although brief, the response is revealing. Snipes neither rejected the request nor expressed support for the new version of Blade, implying that he is content to let fans voice their opinions on the matter.

Wesley Snipes’ unexpected return as the vampire hunter in Deadpool & Wolverine cameos has made him the longest-running live-action Marvel actor of all time. This is due to his reprisal of the character in Blade: Trinity, which was released in 2004.

Despite its tumultuous past, the MCU Blade was still referenced in a humorous way in the latest Deadpool film. During a particular scene, Snipes’ Blade confidently declares: “There has been and always will be only one Blade.”

The comment prompts Deadpool to give a knowing look into the camera. While it may seem like Marvel is joking about the existence of another Blade, fans have interpreted it as a slight towards the difficulties facing the new movie.

Despite initial plans for a November 2025 release, the production of Blade has faced multiple setbacks and is currently without a director and an official production date. As the scheduled release date draws closer, it appears increasingly unlikely that the film will be ready in time.
