Destiny 2: Understanding Strange Coins
In Destiny 2, Strange Coins are a form of currency that can be used to buy various items such as Ritual Engrams, Exotic Catalysts & Armor, and Legendary Weapons from the vendor Xur every week.
Prior to The Final Shape, these coins were only usable at the Starhorse. However, they have been redesigned in the latest expansion.
You can buy items from Xur’s inventory using this currency.
How to get Strange Coins in Destiny 2
The most effortless method of obtaining Strange Coins in Destiny 2 is by participating in the following in-game activities:
- Vanguard Strikes (Including Nightfalls)
- Crucible matches
- Gambit
- Onslaught
- Iron Banner
- Trials of Osiris
The amount of coins received from completing each activity is entirely unpredictable. If you are hoping to acquire this coin quickly, it is recommended to participate in Crucible matches. However, Onslaught or Vanguard Strikes are also viable options, although they may require a longer completion time.
Unfortunately, completing Dares of Eternity or purchasing the Paraversal Haul from the Starhorse will not grant you Strange Coins as currency.
