What is Bistro Huddy? TikToker’s Fictional Restaurant Goes Viral

A former food industry server has launched a virtual restaurant that exclusively offers humorous anecdotes about relatable situations encountered by food service employees on a daily basis.

Despite earning an annual salary in the “upper six-figures,”TikToker Drew Talbert has not once served a customer since the opening of his restaurant, Bistro Huddy.

The reason for this is because it is entirely fabricated. Drew’s virtual restaurant Bistro Huddy, including the servers and customer grievances, is exclusively accessible to his 4.5M TikTok followers.

Despite this, his audience has grown through his comical and relatable depictions of fabricated situations that are typically only seen in a public dining establishment.

Additionally, Drew takes on every single character he creates by dressing up in a range of costumes and utilizing various accents.

Drew played the roles of Terry, the Bistro Huddy manager, Pickles, the line cook, hostess Amber, and Clint, the bartender.

Drew’s 18-part TikTok series, “Workplace Crush,”went viral as he joked about his experience meeting the staff at his new job in a restaurant. The story received an overwhelming response from fans, who unanimously declared it as their “favorite”series.

He proceeded to reenact a scenario in which restaurant employees responded to their supervisor’s announcement of a meeting to discuss combining their tips.

“The crew engaged in a heated debate on a controversial topic, but the server at Bistro Huddy firmly stated, “I apologize, but I am not willing to share my tips. I only share hot girl tips.”

In 2020, Drew, who had spent 22 years in the food industry, was inspired by his wife’s introduction to viral sketch-comedy skits and came up with the concept of his imaginary TikTok restaurant. With his background in comedy, Drew eagerly seized the opportunity to make a name for himself.

According to NBC News, he explained that “everyone is searching for their niche.”He shared that his years of experience in sketch comedy were instrumental in his success, as his writing, acting, and character development all played a role in his achievement.

In addition to Drew’s popular TikTok restaurant, another eatery caught the attention of the internet. In June, ‘ZeroDollarTips’, a TikToker, gained notoriety for sharing videos of themselves leaving high-end restaurants without leaving a tip. This sparked empathy from viewers towards the waitstaff who did not receive compensation for their service.
