TikTokers are participating in the “I didn’t make the Olympics”trend by showcasing their failed sports skills and making fun of their own athletic abilities.
The Olympics house some of the world’s most celebrated athletes, who dedicate their entire lives to training for the opportunity to win gold for their respective countries.
While there are individuals, such as Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and Olympic rugby player Ilona Maher, who possess natural athletic abilities, there are others who must put in more effort to become experts in athletics.
Despite not achieving success in sports such as gymnastics, diving, and track, the athletes in TikTok’s “I didn’t make the Olympics”trend demonstrate the reasons behind their lack of success.
Sarah Gray, a TikToker, gained widespread attention for her video showcasing her skills in youth gymnastics. In the video, she made several attempts to successfully execute a backflip on the balance beam, and although she managed to avoid falling, she had to use her arms to regain her balance multiple times.

User Sweet Potatoes pointed out that her chances at the next Olympics might have improved after she posted a video of herself hitting her head on the diving board.
“Regrettably, she disclosed that she was not selected for the 2024 Olympic diving team this year.”

Despite the impact of Olympic sports on TikTok’s “I didn’t make the Olympics”trend, there are other aspects related to the 2024 games that have gained popularity on the platform.
The popularity of the cafeteria in the Olympic Village has spread quickly, with numerous athletes turning to TikTok to showcase the delectable chocolate chip muffins.
