What is the TikTok Twin Trend? Muni Long’s Song Goes Viral

Celebrities and TikTokers are ensuring the ‘twin, where have you been’ trend stays popular by consistently sharing their versions of the catchy singalong craze.

Ever since January, the ‘twin, where have you been’ trend on TikTok has been gaining popularity and spreading across the platform. With its viral status, an increasing number of TikTokers, including famous personalities, are joining in and sharing their own versions of this entertaining craze.

The trend showcases the strong bond between two individuals, as they sing the lyrics “Twin, where have you been? Nobody understands me like you do,”on TikTok to someone who shares similarities with them.

During the singalong, the camera captures each person as they take turns singing Muni Long’s hit song, ‘Made For Me.’ The breakout single, released in September 2023, was recently remixed by Mariah Carey in May.

Despite the numerous versions of the song, various celebrities, including singers and twin sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey, Jersey Shore star JWoww, and rapper The Kid LAROI, have each put their own unique twist on the viral trend.

During a February NFL game for the Kansas City Chiefs, Chloe and Halle Bailey were unfazed by the thousands of fans surrounding them as they sang and exchanged lyrics from their song ‘Made For Me’, looking glamorous as ever.

Upon JWoww’s decision to partake in the trend, she and her daughter Meilani received praise from fans for their striking resemblance, with one fan even commenting that she looked like a “copy and paste”version of her daughter.

Some individuals who participated in TikTok’s ‘twin, where have you been’ trend were able to reconnect with someone they hadn’t seen in a while.

‘Anjlofficial’, a popular TikToker, and her long-distance best friend shared their viral take on the trend in February. They recorded themselves strolling down the sidewalk after having dinner.

The popular New York City restaurant, The Grey Dog, joined in on the trend by sharing a video of their own. When one of the bartender’s most beloved customers came in, they captured the moment by recording themselves singing along.

Despite Muni Long’s ‘Made For Me’ song gaining popularity on TikTok, there are numerous other artists whose music has also gone viral on the platform.

Metro Boomin’s ‘BBL Drizzy’ beat gained popularity on TikTok as users created videos of themselves dancing to the Drake diss track. This trend emerged in May and parodied the ‘NWTS’ rapper’s rumored Brazilian butt lift.

Despite being called the “worst dance move in history”by fans, artist JoJo Siwa’s song ‘Karma’ gained even more exposure this April when she released choreography for the song. The choreography went viral and was imitated by many TikTokers who shared their own dances on the platform.
