When Calls the Heart Fans Criticize Season 11 Finale for Being Too Cruel to a Character

The final scene of the Season 11 finale of When Calls the Heart has left fans in a frenzy, but a previous scene leading up to the emotional farewell has been criticized for being too harsh towards Lucas.

Many of us have been wondering – what is the information that Andrew Hargraves must share with Elizabeth? The Season 11 finale of When Calls the Heart left fans feeling confused, as it hinted that Jack may still be alive.

Season 12 will most likely not be available until Spring 2025, but there are other matters to be dealt with before then. For fans, one of the most troubling plotlines revolves around Lucas, as Elizabeth informs him that she and Nathan will be going to a wedding as an established couple, which is seen as one step too far.

One fan criticized the scene between Lucas and Elizabeth in the last episode, stating on Reddit that it was ridiculous. The fan mentioned the part where Elizabeth approached Lucas in the saloon and mentioned how she would be attending the wedding with Nathan. The fan questioned the purpose of this interaction.

After being dumped by her, he was shot and ended up in a coma. When he woke up, the first face he saw was hers. His resort deal was ruined and he was betrayed by Jeanette, putting his governorship in doubt.

“This unfortunate man has endured a great deal during the previous season. There was absolutely no justification for Elizabeth seeking his assistance.”

“Another viewer echoed, “She’s a disappointment. They completely ruined her character. She’s portrayed as the most self-centered, loud, and bothersome character of this season.”

Despite initially showing interest in Elizabeth during Season 6, Lucas and Elizabeth ultimately ended their engagement in Season 10 of the TV show.

Elizabeth attributed it to their differences when Lucas was elected Governor, but things have only gotten worse since their breakup. In Season 11, he was recovering from a near-fatal shooting, struggling to secure funding for his ambitious project, dealing with a broken heart, and facing the possibility of being removed as Governor.

In the view of actress Erin Krakow, Elizabeth and her new boyfriend Nathan are already considered to be “soulmates,”as reported by US Weekly.

Despite the confirmation that Chris McNally will be remaining on the show, viewers of When Calls the Heart are still questioning what lies ahead for Lucas in Hope Valley following a tumultuous Season 11. However, this brutal scene could potentially serve as a pivotal moment for him.

“One fan expressed their admiration for his non-reaction, stating that it would have been unfair to Lucas if she had not spoken to him. By telling Lucas about Nathan, she demonstrated her concern for him. If she had kept it a secret, it may have disappointed fans.”

One person reflected, “The final scene was so chilling. It’s unfortunate that we have to wait until next spring to discover the outcome.”
