Despite not being initially well-liked in the anime and manga series Demon Slayer, Zenitsu Agatsuma proved to be a redeemable character. Upon his introduction, he displayed qualities such as obnoxiousness, loudness, and cowardice, which are not typically associated with a skilled demon hunter. However, after his first battle against the Tongue Demon, he showed growth and redeemed himself.
His popularity soared after the fight and gradually, his fanbase began to take notice of his accomplishments within the series. One notable aspect of this show is its diverse array of character backstories, adding depth to each individual.
Many fans are eager to know when Zenitsu’s complete backstory will be revealed in the anime. While most of his backstory has already been shown, there are still certain details that will be revealed during the Infinity Castle arc of the story.

Zenitsu’s Complete Backstory in Demon Slayer: The Animanga Series
Despite his unconventional methods, Zenitsu Agatsuma is a skilled demon hunter. He may lose consciousness out of fear and rely on his instincts, but this has not hindered his abilities in battle. While he may only know one form of combat, the Thunder Breathing, he has honed it to perfection, making him unmatched in speed. His backstory is revealed in the Mount Natagumo arc of the story.
Despite making poor choices in his youth, Zenitsu found himself in a deep debt. He fell victim to a woman’s deception, but fortunately, Jigoro came to his rescue by paying off his debt and providing him with guidance. Under Jigoro’s strict training, Zenitsu endured each day with constant whining and tears.
Despite his master’s absence during training sessions, he persevered and continued to train diligently. He may have only mastered the first form of the Thunder Breathing Technique, but he honed his skills to the point where he could defeat formidable demons, ultimately surpassing his own limitations.
The only aspect of the backstory that remained undisclosed was his connection with Kaigaku, a fellow member of the dojo who also received training from Jigoro. Both Zenitsu and Kaigaku were designated as heirs to Jigoro’s dojo.
Despite mastering all forms except the first, Kaigaku was still able to transform into a demon after losing a battle to Kokushibo. Eventually, Zenitsu, who had trained with Kaigaku, would have to face his former comrade again, only this time as a demon.
Fans will get to see the true nature of his relationship with Kaigaku in the Infinity Castle arc of the Demon Slayer series. It will be intriguing to witness how they react to the dynamic between these two characters.
Fans can also anticipate the highly anticipated battle between Zenitsu and Kaigaku, which is set to take place. This clash will undoubtedly be one of the most thrilling moments in the arc, especially considering that Kaigaku will have ascended to the rank of Upper Moon demon by then.
