When is Hades 2 coming to consoles? Is there an Xbox & PlayStation release date yet?

Although Hades 2 is currently only available for Early Access on PC, console players may be wondering when they can also experience the underworld excitement. While there is no official confirmation yet, as details can be unclear during this initial phase, we do have some information to share.

Similar to its predecessor, Hades 2 follows a similar path towards its release. Players can now get a taste of the highly-anticipated sequel by joining in on its Early Access version. However, this is only currently available for PC users.

Unfortunately, those who are not part of the Early Access program cannot play games on different platforms. This means that fans of Hades 2 from other locations will have to patiently wait for its release. The question remains, how long will this wait be?

Although there are no confirmed plans yet, here is everything we currently know about the anticipated release of Hades 2 on consoles.

When will Hades 2 be released on consoles?

Currently, there is no set date or estimated timeframe for the release of Hades 2 on platforms other than PC. Since the game is still in the Early Access stage, it must first be fully released on PC before considering ports for consoles.

The game’s roadmap states, “We anticipate being in Early Access until at least the end of 2024.”The exact date for our v1.0 launch is undetermined as we need more time to gauge the progress of Early Access development.

Taking this into consideration, the earliest possible release date for the full version of Hades 2 on PC alone would be Q1 2025. This is assuming that there are no delays or obstacles during the development process. Additionally, it may take some time for the sequel to be fully ported to other platforms after its initial release on PC.

The initial release of Hades was on September 17, 2020, launching simultaneously on PC, Mac, and Switch. The console version was not released until almost a year later on August 13, 2021, for PS4/PS5 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X | S. It wasn’t until three years after the initial release that the game became available on iOS devices.

In summary, the process of porting a game like Hades 2 can be time-consuming due to the numerous elements involved. It is possible that the game may be available on consoles by late 2025, but a launch in 2026 is more probable.

While Supergiant is currently prioritizing the PC version of the game in Early Access and is fully committed to building towards its version 1.0 release, it would be advisable not to expect immediate availability on other hardware. However, we will keep you informed of any updates throughout the development process.
