An Indiana Jones game from Bethesda is still in development, although the studio has been rather quiet since its announcement. Nonetheless, here is everything we know about this upcoming new game.
A new Indiana Jones game was announced at the start of 2021, but since that initial teaser, little other information has been revealed.
The initial teaser showed Indy’s iconic hat and whip, as well as a table full of trinkets that Nathan Drake and Lara Croft would be proud of. However, details regarding Doctor Jones’ next adventure have been scarce since, with the developers mainly focusing on their merger with Microsoft and the release ofStarfield.
We then gathered everything there is to know about this future game, including the date on which we are likely to see it arrive and on which platform. We also have some thoughts on what this Indiana Jones game could be.

Does Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game have a release date?
No, Bethesda‘s Indiana Jones game does not yet have a release date, or even an approximate release window.< /span>
The game was said to be in “very early development” in January 2021 and we suspect that world events may have slowed production somewhat at that time.
It’s also worth noting that Bethesda was purchased by Microsoft around this same time period. This may also have impacted development in some way, forcing the studio to rethink its release window not forgetting that Starfield has been the team’s priority ever since, with the game not releasing until 2023 after a few delays.
All this then suggests that Indiana Jones will not arrive for several years. However, there is some hope that it is not that far away since Bethesda and Xbox will be hosting a Developer Direct on January 18, during which they have promised to reveal more about the game.

So hopefully we’ll get an idea of what Machine Games has been up to since 2021, and perhaps, if we’re lucky, some information on when we can expect to see the game.
On which platforms will the Indiana Jones game be available?
Originally, a deal was made between Bethesda and Disney before Microsoft came into the picture. As we learned in legal hearings, the deal was for a cross-platform Indiana Jones game. However, after Microsoft acquired the studio, plans changed.
From now on, the Indiana Jones game will be an Xbox and PC exclusive. At the time, Bethesda’s Pete Hines even suggested that Bethesda’s game would launch on Game Pass upon release, like Starfield.
As a result, PS5 players will not be able to participate in the adventure nor those with a Nintendo Switch.

Indiana Jones Gameplay Details
Although no gameplay has been revealed yet, given that this is an Indiana Jones game, so expect tombs, temples, exploration, mystical quests, and a certain group of bad guys in military uniform.
We don’t expect the game to involve any shooting mechanics, as guns aren’t really Indy’s style. Therefore, while some gameplay elements might be reminiscent of Tomb Raider and Uncharted, we imagine the combat will look and feel very different.
Machine Games is developing this game in partnership with Lucasfilm. They described the title as an “original, standalone story set at the peak of the famous adventurer’s career.”
This means that the Indiana Jones game is unlikely to offer a playable version of the films Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, The Last Crusade, or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Instead, we will likely see a new adventure with familiar characters and new ones inspired by these films.
