While the second part of season 2 of Invincible is due to arrive in just a few days, many fans are already impatiently awaiting the third season of the Amazon animated series. Here is what we know so far about the rest of Mark Grayson’s adventures.
Adapted from the eponymous comic book by Robert Kirkman, to whom we notably owe The Walking Dead, Invincible is an animated series which debuted in 2021 on Prime Video. A superhero series which has seduced the public thanks to its gripping plot and a high level of uninhibited violence, thus falling in line with The Boys, another very popular series on the Amazon streaming platform.
And while the second season of Invincible must finally resume after several months of waiting, part 2 of this season 2 being expected for March 14, 2024 on Prime Video, some are already wondering if they will have to wait that long to discover the rest of the series. Because as a reminder, more than two years had passed between the end of the first season and the start of the second.
A wait that could well be history if we rely on the latest statements that we have heard concerning season 3 of Invincible.
Estimated Invincible Season 3 Release Date
At the moment, we don’t have any official release date for Invincible season 3. However, Kirkman’s previous statements on this subject suggest that we could certainly find it as early as next year, if not before. Indeed, the creator of the original comics, who also serves as showrunner on the animated adaptation, declared last summer during San Diego Comic-Con that the interval between the next seasons should be “more short”.
An ambition that Kirkman confirmed a few months later during the premiere of season 2, thus renewing his desire to reduce the time between each season. The American author then revealed that he ideally wanted to offer us one per year, excellent news for fans who feared having to wait several more years for the next season.
And it seems that Kirkman’s goal may actually come to fruition. In any case, this is what actor Steven Yeun, who lends his voice to the character of Mark Grayson in the original version, recently suggested. Indeed, it was during a recent interview with Collider that Yeun spoke about the progress of season 3, declaring in particular this: “We know that this big break has not been a cakewalk.. We have worked hard to catch up. We want to take the necessary time for the animation. So yes, we worked. We have episodes in store, we know what’s happening.”
Yeun confirms to us here that the production of season 3 is therefore more than well underway, given that certain episodes already seem to be ready according to his statements. And while we don’t yet have a definitive date for the sequel, fans can at least take comfort in knowing that the time between the first two seasons of Invincible will be the longest wait the series will ever have to wait. to know.
