As Valorant on console enters its beta phase, you may be curious about the release of ranked mode. Here is everything you need to know about its arrival.
After years of teasing and job listings hinting at its arrival, the long-awaited console port for Valorant was finally revealed during Summer Game Fest 2024.
Despite its release to players on June 14, the beta version still lacked several maps and modes compared to its PC counterpart, including the crucial ranked mode.
This is everything you need to know about the arrival of Competitive mode on Valorant for console.
When is Competitive coming to Valorant on console?
According to the 8.11 patch notes for Valorant, Ranked will be added to the game’s console version in patch 9.0.
The highly anticipated Episode 9 Act 1 patch, also referred to as Patch 9.0, is scheduled to launch on June 26. This update will not only introduce Competitive mode to console players but will also add Abyss to the pool of maps used in ranked matches.
Despite the release of ranked mode on June 26 with the new patch, beta console players will still not have access to the full map pool like PC players. Upon its release, Abyss, Ascent, Bind, Haven, and Sunset (releasing on June 25) will be the only available maps for console players.
Lotus is scheduled to arrive on July 9, followed by Icebox on July 23. Riot plans to gradually introduce one map per patch until all maps are available on the console port.
While playing on console, it is important to remember that you are not competing against the top players from PC on the ranked ladder. However, your progress as a player will still be recorded across all hardware platforms.
