After much speculation, Xbox has confirmed that some exclusive titles will be available on other platforms in the future. As of today, four Xbox games are planned to launch on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, and the most obvious choice among them is Rare’s co-op game, Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves is a pirate adventure that encourages cooperation through various mechanics, such as managing different stations on a ship, participating in raids, or simply sharing drinks in a tavern.
The experience is tailored to be shared with other players, and soon, users on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch will be able to join the party.
Here is everything we know about the coming of Sea of Thieves on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
When will Sea of Thieves be released on PlayStation?
At the moment, there is no confirmed release date for Sea of Thieves on PlayStation. There’s also no official confirmation on whether Sea of Thieves will be available on Sony’s consoles, but a report from The Verge strongly suggested it.

According to Microsoft, of the four games coming to PlayStation, two will be “community-focused”titles, a statement that hints at this possibility. Regardless of when the game comes to PlayStation, we expect it to launch on both PS5 and PS4 since it’s also available on Xbox One.
When will Sea of Thieves be released on Nintendo Switch?
Xbox has yet to officially confirm that Sea of Thieves is coming to Nintendo Switch, so there is no release date to announce.
We might learn more on the subject soon, however, as during the recent Xbox Podcast, Phil Spencer said that the developers of the soon-to-be cross-platform games have “announced plans that aren’t too far off.”
Additionally, a recent tweet from the game’s official account also seemed to insinuate the possibility of a cross-platform release, at least that’s what many users suggested.
