Ever since his involvement in tvN’s “Lovely Runner”, Byeon Woo-seok has gained immense popularity. His schedule has been packed with commercials, photoshoots, and fan meetings held in multiple countries.

Despite the large and enthusiastic fan base that follows him wherever he goes, there have been growing worries about safety. In fact, a few overly enthusiastic fans have even disregarded his personal boundaries. This became particularly problematic on July 12th, when Byeon Woo-seok departed from Incheon International Airport for the Hong Kong leg of his very first solo fan meeting tour, “2024 ByeonWooSeok Asia Fanmeeting Tour SUMMER LETTER”.

Despite the inconvenience it caused to general airport users, the use of flashlights by security personnel hired by his agency, controlling entry to certain gates and checking the tickets of passengers in lounges during this time, sparked a public outcry due to the excessive security measures.

The agency representing Byeon Woo-seok has released a statement of apology, expressing, “Although we were not informed about the security firm’s gate control and ticket inspection at the airport, we deeply regret any inconvenience caused to airport users and take complete moral responsibility. We offer our sincere apologies.”

After the incident, Incheon Airport authorities launched an investigation into the actions of the private security firm, examining whether their unauthorized gate control and ticket checks could be considered an abuse of power and coercion.
