Hades 2 includes multiple bosses that promise to provide thrilling battles. These bosses can be found both in the underworld and on the surface, including the formidable Charybdis. This boss can also be encountered as a mini-boss in the Rift of Thessaly.
Where to Find Charybdis?
In the Rift of Thessaly, Melinoe will come across Charybdis. To gain access, she must recite the Permeation of Witching-Wards Incantation. The entrance is located in the opposite direction of the Underworld path at the Crossroads. She must be ready to confront numerous adversaries before finally encountering the ferocious sea creature.
How to Overcome Charybdis?
Upon entering the boss room, Charybdis will immediately summon five tentacles to unleash powerful smash attacks. These tentacles release shockwaves from three sides, posing a threat to any nearby players. To avoid being hit by the wave, it is essential to position yourself at the back of the tentacles. This will provide a safe distance from the attack. Alternatively, you can try to dodge the waves, but quick reflexes are necessary for this method to be effective.
To defeat Charybdis efficiently, focus on damaging each of its tentacles. Begin with the corner ones and eliminate them one by one before moving on to the others. As long as you continue to move and keep the tentacles separated, you should be able to handle the battle successfully.
When Charybdis’ health drops to 25-30%, it will retract all of its tentacles and release red orbs, which will then split into smaller bombs. Once you have taken care of these explosives, more tentacles will emerge. Keep an eye out for any circular objects and be sure to dodge them quickly.
Just as Charybdis approaches its demise, its tentacles will launch a 360-degree attack. It is advisable to maintain a safe distance when the boss’s health is low. Once this last stage is over, you will emerge as the triumphant victor over Charybdis.
Boons against the sea monster Charybdis
Boons in Hades 2 are not easy to come by. When you do come across one, be sure to grab it for an advantage against Charybdis later on.
- Glowing Coal: Create a binding circle using Cast to launch a fiery projectile at the target, causing an explosion upon impact.
- Ice Strike: The damage of attacks will be increased and they will also cause the target to become frozen.
- Soot Sprint: Your Sprint will destroy most ranged shots within its range, and also cause Scorch damage.
- Total Eclipse: Hex will blast the target area for 1000 damage.
