Although these items align with the pirate theme, the unvaulted Buried Treasure maps complement it even more effectively.
In order to elevate the Cursed Sails Pirates of the Caribbean event to a new level, Fortnite has decided to bring back the Buried Treasure maps from Season 9.
How to Obtain Buried Treasure Maps in Fortnite
During the Cursed Sails event in Fortnite, you have the opportunity to obtain Buried Treasure maps by looting regular yellow and gold chests, as well as finding them scattered on the ground. If you prefer, you can also buy these maps from any of the Pirates of the Caribbean NPCs for a price of 300 Gold. Below is a list of all the NPCs who offer this item for sale.
- Jack Sparrow: Situated to the south of Grand Glacier, directly in front of the moored vessel.
- Elizabeth Swann: Can be found at Pleasant Piazza.
- Captain Barbossa can be found in Shipwreck Shallows.
- Davey Jones can be found in The Underworld.
Only one Buried Treasure map is available for each NPC, therefore if someone else finds it first, your only option is to search for it in chests.
How to use Treasure Maps in Fortnite
To utilize a Buried Treasure map in Fortnite, simply equip it and follow the light blue arrow that leads to a red X on the ground. Use your pickaxe to dig into the ground and uncover a legendary Pirates of the Caribbean treasure chest.
These chests contain items such as the Flint-Knock Pistol, the mythic Ship in a Bottle, and gold.
