What is Coal used for in Palworld?

The main use of Coal in Palworld is in the manufacturing of Refined Ingots. These special ingots are a key ingredient in crafting weapons such as the Double Barrel Shotgun, Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Rocket Launcher, and more.

To craft these Refined Ingots, you will need to reach Technology Level 34 and unlock the blueprint for an Improved Furnace. With this, you can use Coal and Ore to create a Refined Ingot.

Place to farm quality coal and Pal Oil

This material is found in abundance in the desert region highlighted in orange in the image above. Coincidentally, this is also the best place for farming quality Pal Oil which you will also need to craft weapons in Palworld.
