Determining the book that will serve as the basis for season 3 of Reacher is not an easy task: it is not enough to consult the series written by Lee Child. Not only is the novelist’s work as long as his hero is great, but we must also add the fact that the Prime Video series does not follow the chronology.
If the first season adapted the very first novel, From the Bottom of the Abyss (or Killing Floor in its original version), the second took a big leap in time to go directly to the eleventh volume. Reacher has just completed the adaptation of Bad Luck and Trouble.
So we can deduce that any of Lee Child’s remaining novels can serve as a candidate for season 3. And the many clues disseminated by lead actor Alan Ritchson ultimately only served to lose fans. Fortunately, Prime Video has just released the information: we now know which book will indeed be adapted in season 3 of Reacher.
Which Lee Child novel will Reacher season 3 adapt?
Amazon Studios has officially confirmed which book will be adapted in season 3 of Reacher: it will be volume 7 of the saga written by Lee Child, Never Forgive (or Persuade in its original version).
Clues had already been disseminated by the main actor, Alan Ritchson. The latter spoke about the novel, which was still mysterious at the time, describing it as one of the author’s best, during an interview for Cinemablend.
” It’s one of my favorite books, ” he declared, before adding: ” It’s in all the top 10. It’s going to make a lot of people very happy. “
Recently, new photos from the shoot were shared on the actor’s social networks. While most of it may seem trivial, the caption that Alan Ritchson added was not: “Details matter.” And fans were very interested in the lobster from the catering marquee. Many have in fact associated the crustacean with the American state of Maine, thus linking season 3 to volume 7 of Jack Reacher, Never Forgive (Persuade).
Amazon Studios has since officially confirmed the information in a press release: it will indeed be volume 7 of Jack Reacher written by Lee Child.
The plot is currently presented with few details: “Reacher must become an undercover agent to rescue an informant held by a troubling enemy from his past.” Amazon Studios also tells us that another member of the cast from previous seasons will return: Maria Sten, actress playing Frances Neagley.
While no release window has been given at this stage, we now officially know that the third season of Reacher is currently filming in Toronto.
