Despite the trend of K-pop groups becoming younger, BEWAVE stands out by proudly stating that all of their members are in their 20s. Who exactly are these members?

On April 17, BEWAVE, a newly formed girl group consisting of six members, made their debut with their first mini-album “BE; WAVE”and its lead single “SING.”This was reported by an article on Naver’s entertainment news.

The team, consisting of six members – Yunseul, Jiun, Lena, Zena, Gowoon, and Ain, was created by GOLDDUST Entertainment.

All of them were pre-debut trainees of other existing girl groups, which made their faces familiar among K-pop and music fans even before their official debut.

Jiun was close to making her debut as a member of Young Posse, while Lena and Gowoon had already been part of LAPILLUS and Mimiirose before their official debut. Ain, who was also a former S2 trainee, was once considered to be a member of KISS OF LIFE.

Zena’s first appearance was as a participant on SBS’s “My Teenage Girl,”which brought her into the spotlight. She then became a member of CLASS:y, and finally, Yunseul was a pre-debut member of OAHSIS before also joining “MIXNINE.”

Despite the emergence of several new girl groups, BEWAVE asserted that their distinctive strength lay in the fact that all of their members were already of legal age. Their oldest member was born in 2001, making them 23 years old, while their youngest member was born in 2004, making them 20 years old.

The six-member girl group is confident in their ability to showcase empathy and the true essence of youth with their members in their 20s, as a result, in the music industry.

Furthermore, Lena pointed out that their height, averaging at 170cm, is also beneficial in allowing them to perform impressive choreographies.

Just as their name, BEWAVE, suggests, the group’s goal is to:

“Gather as a sextet and create a new and overwhelming blue wave with their charms. Like the start of wave surfing where the waves were sometimes strong or gentle, BEWAVE embarks on creating their own flow.”

The main focus of the song ‘SING!’ is the members’ strong vocals, which are accompanied by a lively melody that infuses elements of Latin music into its hip-hop foundation.

Yunseul presented it as follows:

“This is a song with strong addictiveness, and you will feel like swimming.”

Four songs are featured on the album, including the title track “Sing!”and its intro song, “Blue Wave,”as well as the b-side track “SHINE,”which is a remake of Sugar’s song of the same name. This remake showcases the group’s unwavering determination to spread love and kindness.
