Who is Producer Koala? Uncovering the Identity of the Man Accused of Assaulting Jessi’s Fan

On the morning of September 29th, a young fan in Apgujeong-dong, located in Gangnam, Seoul, was reportedly assaulted by an individual connected to Jessi’s entourage after requesting a photograph with the artist.

It has been reported that Jessi attempted to intervene during the incident before leaving the scene. When the authorities arrived following the fan’s report, those accompanying Jessi claimed they were unaware of the assailant’s location.

Representatives for Jessi clarified their involvement, asserting that the individual responsible for the assault was a friend of a producer affiliated with Jessi and held Chinese nationality. In response to a media inquiry on October 16th about her familiarity with the assailant, Jessi stated, “I encountered him for the first time.”

Allegations indicate that a member of Jessi’s team obstructed the fan’s approach before physically assaulting them, striking the fan in the stomach and head. This individual has been identified online as “Koala,” a producer and rapper known for contributions to Jessi’s songs such as “Cold Blooded” and “NUNU NANA.” Koala was called in for police questioning on October 11th as the primary suspect.

Currently, Jessi, Koala, and two other individuals are under investigation following an assault lawsuit filed by the victim. Furthermore, a social media user has lodged an additional complaint against Jessi, accusing her of helping to hide the perpetrator and fleeing the scene.
