As the seventh season of the anime has started airing in the past few weeks, fans have been eagerly anticipating the answer to one of the biggest questions – who is the traitor in My Hero Academia? The series has been hinting at the existence of a traitor long before the seventh season’s release, and viewers were surprised to finally discover the traitor’s identity in the latest episode.
Despite this unexpected revelation, many My Hero Academia fans were left with numerous questions about the traitor’s acquaintances, allies, and possible accomplices. Although the recent anime episode did not address all of these inquiries, it did provide answers to the main concerns that many viewers are currently fixated on.
Who is the traitor in My Hero Academia?
The individual who betrays his classmates in My Hero Academia is Yuga Aoyama, who is also a classmate of the main protagonist, Izuku “Deku”Midoriya. Aoyama was initially born without a Quirk, causing him to feel isolated and rejected by his peers. As a result, his parents sought out All For One after hearing a rumor that he possessed the ability to grant Quirks to others.
According to the information known by fans, it appears that All For One did not make any initial requests for Aoyama and his family to pledge their loyalty or make any promises in return for granting Aoyama’s Quirk. However, it is believed that once Aoyama entered U.A. High, All For One approached the Aoyama family and asked them to carry out his orders. This resulted in Yuga leaking confidential information to All For One and his associates, ultimately leading to the occurrences at the USJ and Summer Training Camp.
Is the Connection Between Hagakure and the U.A Traitor Valid?
Despite the widespread belief among fans that Toru Hagakure was the traitor in My Hero Academia, it was ultimately revealed to be Aoyama. Many had suspected Hagakure due to her invisibility powers and lack of focus in the series leading up to the reveal. However, it was confirmed that she was not working with All For One and had no connection to the traitor at U.A. High School.
Despite this, she is strongly connected to Aoyama as they have a very close friendship throughout the entire series. Though their bond is not heavily emphasized, there are multiple instances that showcase the depth of their relationship. Additionally, Hagakure plays a role in this connection as she was the first to become suspicious of Aoyama’s behavior and began monitoring him. However, it should be noted that she is not involved as a co-conspirator with the U.A. traitor.
AFO’s Plans for the U.A. Traitor
Currently in the My Hero Academia anime series, All For One’s strategy for Aoyama involves using him as bait to lure Izuku Midoriya to a secluded location. From there, All For One intends to surprise and capture Midoriya using his goop teleportation Quirk, as previously seen in earlier seasons of the show. This plan will allow All For One to quickly obtain the One For All Quirk with little interference from Pro Heroes or Deku’s friends.
Despite this, All For One has shown little concern for Aoyama’s ultimate fate, indicating that he is not a significant factor in the self-proclaimed Demon Lord’s plans. This aligns with the current state of the series, as the safe society has already been dismantled and the villains have completed most of their preparations for the final battle. If Aoyama were to fail, it is unlikely to greatly affect All For One’s plans.
